I recently attempted to uninstall PsychoPy and the uninstaller appeared to be deleting files that were not a part of the install. It stayed stuck part way through the uninstall process for about 15 minutes and when I checked I realized it was deleting files from all sorts of places in my C drive. I stopped the uninstall and have restarted my computer and confirmed that a significant amount of files are now missing from my computer. Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know how I would go about recovering the files?
One of my students experienced this today. Did you lose files from your desktop? Was there anything systematic about what was deleted? I had a look in the student’s recycle bin but there was nothing new there.
The last step of the uninstaller process is to remove the folder that you installed to (typically C:\Program Files\PsychoPy). No other files are touched. The only way I can imagine that other files were touched would be if you installed the psychopy executable into a folder with other files rather than in its own folder
