Any time experiment ends due to an error, Python stops responding and computer gets extremely slow

OS Win11:
PsychoPy version 2024.2.1post4:
Standard Standalone Installation? (y/n) Yes
Do you want it to also run online? (y/n) No

Whenever I am running any experiment using the Builder, Coder, or even from VS Code running the output python script from the builder, if at any point some bug in my code causes the experiment to end (such as not finding a specified stimulus file for example, but anything, really), Python itself stops responding, my computer becomes extremely slow, barely functional, until I force end Python through the task manager.

I also noticed this happening even with seemingly simple functions from Psychopy, such as attempting to open the plugins menu from the Builder.

As semi-related question - What is the best way to uninstall Psychopy standalone on Windows? I am fairly sure I had seen an uninstaller for a previous version in the past, but it does not seem to exist for my current version. I would like to try a fresh install to see if it may solve the issue.

Thank you kindly for any help,
Bruno.

Changing version should help. If you try to install a new version to the same folder that should wipe the old one…or try Windows add/remove programs.
