Problems displaying multiple scales/ ratings on one page at same time/ simultaneously with working "Next" button

Dear Psychopy Community,

My goal is to capture through scales how emotional words are. To do this, I would like to display three different words and three matching scales at the same time. For this, the participants should be shown three words at the same time and give their rating. Only after rating, it should be possible to click on „Next“ („Weiter“ in German) in the lower right corner and have three new words displayed.

I think I managed the display of the words and scales more or less well (the words are not 100% centered and online they are not always displayed), but unfortunately you can click on “Next” in the bottom right corner even if you have no rating, or only one rating, or only two ratings. It is also possible to keep “Next” clicked and get new words displayed all the time, which shouldn’t be that way either.

By the way: To display the words randomly, I took the original list from Excel, copied it twice and arranged it randomly in the same Excel file (Conditions-folder). If you have a more gallant solution, I am grateful for every tip. If I may provide any more information to get to the solution, please let me know!

Hi, it seems like there 2 things that could be done here.

  1. For your next button, you can have it appear after all 3 ratings have been made. In the start field of the button, you can switch the start field to condition and type in → name_of_rating_scale1.rating and name_of_rating_scale2.rating and name_of_rating_scale3.rating
  2. You can add a code component and at the begin routine, type in → name_of_textbox_component.refresh()
    Alternatively, you can use a text stimuli component as that is automatically centre aligned
