How to get verbal response time using a microphone

Hi everyone,

I am using PsychoPy on OS: Win10P to build a speeded naming task in which I am trying to record verbal response time using a microphone. I have an experimental routine with a loop that contains 50 words to appear sequentially and just once each for ~750 milliseconds each word. However, I am unsure of how to get the software to record verbal RT. I originally added a microphone response but upon further online research I am now fairly certain I need to add a code component, but do not know how to correctly code something into the component to get verbal RT for each of the 50 words that will be shown.

Did you figure out this in the end? I also need to do this myself.

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to do the same thing. I would like to record the RT of verbal responses as well as send triggers to Brain Vision Recorder when the response is given. If anyone has done it yet, I would really appreciate any help.
