Hello,
In the following instructional video about pavlovia surveys, it is mentioned that a prolific ID can be presented within a pavolvia survey question at about 1:00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b_aBD8z0KU
So, I’ve been trying to make this happen. This is my prolific redirect, with the re-named prolific id as “participant”.
This is the input in my pavlovia survey:
And finally, this is what it looks like when I preview it from prolific, so that a dummy prolific id is passed:
When I preview something similar in qualtrics, it does display the prolific id, so I think I’m doing something wrong with the pavlovia survey version. How can I make the ID display correctly?
Thank you!
A quick edit to add that this survey is embedded within a psychopy builder online study, in case this matters.
Yes – unfortunately embedded surveys can’t yet “see” the received variables. You would need to add this page to the experiment – also, I don’t think you should be giving the opportunity to edit the Prolific ID (as opposed to simply show it) since that function could be abused.
Thanks Wakefield,
Noted about editing the Prolific ID - it was a template from the qualtrics docs.
When you mention “adding this page to the experiment”, I think you’re referring to doing a daisy chain with linking to the survey first and then linking to the builder experiment, is that right?
Also just to verify - even if the embedded surveys can’t “see” the received variables, the data output from the entire builder experiment will still contain the prolific ID, is that right?
Much appreciated!
If you are using an embedded survey then your survey is (to my understanding) embedded in an experiment. The experiment data will contain any received variables plus variables from embedded surveys.
