I was recruiting participants using Prolific and had been doing well until I encountered the following error at the last moment. After pausing the recruitment, I tried to run a pilot on Pavlovia, but I am still facing the same error. Is there a way to resolve this lock?
Additionally, due to the error mentioned above, several participants encountered the same error message during or immediately after completing the experiment, preventing them from completed it. Upon checking, it appears that the data for these participants is not recorded in Pavlovia. Since the participants have already invested their time in the experiment, I was unable to obtain the experimental data, but I provided them with appropriate compensation. Could I possibly seek assistance from PsychoPy/Pavlovia regarding this matter as well?
It looks like the error might have occurred because more participants tried to access the task than there were available ‘slots’ on the Shelf record. e.g. in group A there are 24 reserved and 63 completed entries. Just to check - do you have data for those 63 that were marked as complete in that group?
One setting that I see recently became possible on Prolific is you can limit the number of participants that can simultaneously access your study at once - could I ask if you put a limit on the number of participants that could simultaneously enter a study?
This is an error that we have seen reported by other users so we are trying to pinpoint the settings that lead to the error. Thank you for sharing your issue here!
Deleting the reserved data seems to have fixed the issue. I’ll also try limiting the number of participants on Prolific. Deleting the reserved data seems to have fixed the issue! Thank you!
p.s. I have all the data from the participants who completed the experiment. However, it seems that the data from those who encountered an error right after confirming the debriefing has not been saved. In this case, I believe we should give them the same compensation as the others who completed the experiment, considering the time they spent.
