Cannot link local PsychoPy project to existing Pavlovia experiment (Prolific URL already active)

Hi everyone,

I’m having a problem with synchronizing my PsychoPy project:

  • My experiment is live on Pavlovia and has already been paid for on Prolific.

  • I have the local PsychoPy files, but the sync no longer recognizes the online project.

  • My local Git repository is still linked to an old, deleted Pavlovia project.

  • PsychoPy only offers “Create new project,” but I cannot change the existing Prolific URL, otherwise participants would be affected.

  • The GitLab URL of the existing project isn’t visible anywhere in Pavlovia, only the run URL and an internal project ID.

Has anyone successfully re-linked a local PsychoPy project to an already existing Pavlovia experiment under these conditions? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not clear what you need here.

If Prolific is pointing to an experiment you have deleted, you could delete local .git files and push your local experiment to a new copy of that location.

If Prolific is pointing to an experiment which you can’t sync to, redownload from that location and then make any edits before resyncing (which could include replacing the psyexp file wholesale from the one in your other folder).
