PsychoPy version: PsychoPy 2026.1.2
Standard Standalone Installation
Hi everyone,
I am having an issue linking a forked Pavlovia project in PsychoPy Builder 2026.1.2 and would appreciate any help. I would like to be able to sync the forked experiment with PsychoPy and run it both online and locally.
These are the steps I followed:
-
Forked an existing project on Pavlovia into my own account.
-
Logged into Pavlovia inside PsychoPy Builder.
-
Used Search Projects to find my fork and used the Sync button to download it into a local folder.
-
The sync completed successfully.
-
Opened the downloaded .psyexp file in PsychoPy Builder.
This is the issue that I am encountering:
Every time I open the .psyexp file and I try to run it online from PsychoPy, I get the message “The file does not belong to any existing project”. Furthermore, the Pavlovia tab shows my username, but no project.
Additionally, after syncing, I found a brand new project on my Pavlovia Dashboard with the same name as the .psyexp file, but with a different ID from my fork and unknown platform and version. The new folder contains none of the files from the fork or my local folder. It seems that PsychoPy is creating a new project instead of linking to my existing fork.
