Hi! I would like to share my Pavlovia survey with other existing users. The “Share selected surveys” option states: “Designers can be identified by their GitLab ID, or by their username, or by their email address.”
However, when I try to enter an existing username and email address, I get the following error message:
a read or write ID did not correspond to a designer
If the error persists, contact Pavlovia’s administrator.
Can you advise please? Thanks!
I only share surveys using the Gitlab username. Often I check the spelling first by going to Gitlab and going through the motions of adding someone to a project.
You can try adding me (Wake) as a test (and then removing my access once you’ve confirmed it works).
Thank you for the super quick reply!
It looks like adding Wake worked - do you have access now?
One more question: How can I find a person’s Gitlab username without them giving it to me?
I don’t see a way of finding my student with her username email that she used to register.
Yes, I have access
Try the following steps (assuming you have no Pavlovia experiments)
Sign into https://gitlab.pavlovia.org/
Create a new blank project
Go to members and enter the email address to find the username (if they have one)
Thanks a lot!
The method you describe works and I can see users’ names with their emails.
However, as you say, this doesn’t work for Pavlovia. One of the user names could be manually added to the survey, but another one (Micah_bae) still generates the same error message and I can’t figure out why.
I’m not sure but I think it might be because they only just created their account.
When I tried sharing a survey with them I got the same error as you, but their name was still added to the survey (now removed) so maybe they will have access despite the error message.
OK, thanks for checking!
I’ll test again tomorrow and will update (and keep your access to PavloviaHell till then).
Hi! It looks like the issue is related to new users having an account, but not completing the email validation. Wake, I have now removed your access, thank you!
