I have a new Pavlovia survey which I wish to share with authenticated Pavlovia/GitHub users as designers of this survey (either read-only or write) - but no email notifications are being received by the invitees.
(As a workaround I would have liked to have explicitly added the users to the survey, rather than invite, so it automatically appears in their list of surveys - but I don’t see if that is possible).
I have submitted (more than once) the ‘share survey’ option successfully (without error) - but no emails are being received by invitees.
I have checked with one invitee and they confirmed that they had completed their github sign up including the ‘confirmation email’ step.
As far as I’m aware Surveys are added rather than invited. I don’t think any emails are sent. To view them the collaborator has to view their shared surveys and then search.
Unfortunately my collaborator still cannot find the survey (even tho shared with them) - by searching for the survey name.
at wakecarter - could I add you to the survey as a read/only collaborator (in fact I tried but it failed with: “error”: “a read or write ID did not correspond to a designer”)?
thanks again
My GitLab username is Wake, not wakecarter. The user will have to have verified their email address. You can check usernames by trying to share a Pavlovia experiment with an email address and you will then see the correct spelling for their username.
thanks wakecarter - just added you as read only collaborator; can you find this survey, named: TT06-1
My existing collaborators do seem to be added to the “share survey” form ok (with email address resolving ok) - they just can’t find the survey.
thank you again for your help.
We solved the issue, for anyone with the same issue:
It relates to a usability pattern when viewing a list of surveys. The view filters the surveys by default to be only those ‘owned’ by the individual (Column: Access Rights). Shared surveys will never appear in the table even if searched for, if only ‘owned’ is selected.
The solution is to actively select the ‘shared’ filter also or instead - per screenshot.
