Is the survey still listed in your dashboard?

I can see that the survey is live here: Pavlovia Survey 2024.2.0

Does your colleague have read and/or edit access to it?

Was it shared with anyone else?

No it was not shared with anyone else - yes my colleague can read it only. I deleted my name in the share portal without thinking and wondering now has that blocked me. I need to go in and make some questions mandatory to answer etc. so I am a bit lost what to do???

I think you should have mentioned this to start with. Yes, you removed your own access. I recommend that you ask your colleague to make a copy and then give you edit access to that copy.

The survey is already live and in use - it seems a bit crazy that I can remove my own access - is there no way to reinstate this? My colleague says she thinks she can download the responses as they come in - if we continue with the original survey - other than editing it - will we have any problems?

I have created a bug report asking to block this in future, but there are many other things which I view as higher priority for surveys.

The original survey can be used, and you have access to the data via your colleague so it sounds like you should continue as it.

I will tag the person who can give you access back, but at the moment he is preparing for our server upgrade on the 27th so please do not hold your breath.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your expertise and understand that this may not be a priority at present. From my perspective as a novice user, I wanted to highlight that this presents a genuine usability concern. The ability for a user to remove themselves from their own survey and subsequently lose access is serious. Many users are likely to approach Pavlovia in the same way they would use Qualtrics or Google Forms, and may not anticipate this risk.

Dear @CMCK ,

I just updated your survey and added you back to the read and write access lists. You now have access to it again.

I agree with you that we should warn users that they will lose access to their survey if they remove themselves from the list. I will attend to it at the earliest opportunity.

Best wishes,

Alain
