Include pasted full error message if possible. “That didn’t work” is not enough information.
If you want to use these fonts, try copying the ttf files to the folder in the warning messages.

Changing the fontfile extension does not work. ttc is true type font collection of fonts saved in the TrueType (.TTF) format. It is used to deliver multiple fonts in a single file and useful for combining fonts that share many glyphs in common.
There are various online font converters that would convert ttc to ttf.
