Subset of prolific participants say "study doesn't work"

URL of experiment:

Description of the problem: I launched 60 spots on Prolific for a study that is running through Pavlovia. 41 of them finished fine and the data uploaded. An additional 11 were able to submit the COMPLETE code on Prolific, as they should when the study ends, but there is no data for these people on Pavlovia. Any suggestions or anyone else encountered something like this? The number seems too high to just be a random problem of the kind described in the FAQ.

Do you display the completion code for Prolific on screen?

It’s a URL redirect. And most people have no problem. But there is a larger than normal subset of people who “complete” the study from the standpoint of Prolific but there is no data for them in Pavlovia server.

I have yet to see proof of a URL redirect working and no data being saved. Are you able to get any information about the participants from Prolific, such as how long they spent doing the experiment and when so you can work out which ones didn’t give you data. You then might be able to spot any anomalies. It’s possible that a genuine participant discovered the completion code and then shared it. Do the number of completed + aborted sessions match or exceed the number of Prolific starters (if that’s possible to know)?

The VESPR Study Portal can be used to bookend a Pavlovia study and end on a debrief with a button to return to Prolific without the Prolific code being visible in the source code.
