Problem with surveys in Prolific

I am using Pavlovia Surveys 2026.2.0 linked to a Prolific study for a 5-minute survey. In Pavlovia, I enabled “Save on each page” from the outset. Participants enter their Prolific ID manually on one of the first pages of the survey and are redirected back to Prolific at survey completion.

So far, I have data in Pavlovia for 308 completed participants. However, Prolific is showing a further > 100 participants as awaiting review/payment, and they appear to have completed the study from Prolific’s side. The issue is that I cannot find any data in Pavlovia for those > 100 participants, not even partial records.

Could anyone advise how this discrepancy might occur? In particular, is it possible for participants to be redirected back to Prolific or marked as completed there without their Pavlovia data being saved? Are partial saves stored somewhere separate, or is there a log/session-level view I could access to identify whether these participants ever reached Pavlovia?

Any guidance would be very much appreciated, as I am trying to understand whether this is a saving issue.

Many thanks.

Does the data you have include surveys abandoned part way through? Did they get back to Prolific via an incomplete URL?

If the answer is yes is both cases, perhaps 100 participants abandoned the survey on the first page, so nothing was saved because no pages were completed .

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Based on Prolific, they all completed the survey with a completion code and are awaiting compensation.

Is the completion code displayed on screen? If not, please could you clarify exactly where it is stored?

Participants were redirected to Prolific using the “Thank You” page function within survey designer. I tested this myself before launching the study and the redirect worked correctly. It also appears to have worked for a large number of participants. However, as mentioned, there are now more than 100 participants for whom this does not seem to have worked as expected, or at least for whom I cannot locate any corresponding Pavlovia data. I did not share the completion code with anyone.

I’m sorry about the missing data. It’s not clear to me why certain participants might have saved and others not. I would not recommend using the dynamic completion code with the survey editor.
