I have an experiment that says ‘initializing the experiment’ and hangs. Fortunately i have had this error before several times and fixed this problem on different occasions. Unfortunately, I don’t remember my exact steps to fix this issue. I am looking to revert back to an old tag (I did this but did not solve the issue).
Can someone remind me what is the easiest way to debug this error in JS while I am at the browser OR do I have to go back all the way to builder and try and work things from there to fix this issue? Latter is how i built the experiment but I guess i have made changes that broke something after it was working or something about the browser has changes.
I am also wondering why there is not “Revert” button when i am at a tag merge checkin in gitlab. Is this only available through command line?
I lost my experiments that were hosted on pavlovia while under a paid institutional license. For other researchers, please note that you should backup all your work and be prepared to regenerate your experiments should they be accidently be deleted by someone at the organization. See ticket: [Online experiments] Pavlovia administration request
There are no backup/restores available on pavlovia regardless if the service is paid.
It’s an incredible amount of work that can be lost while under a false impression that it’s hosted on gitlab. Just a cautionary tale for other researchers. Luckily I had backed up my work!
You understand, presumably, that accounts on computer systems are often stored in databases not in flat files. As you know, rsync would only fetch the files from your projects, which you’ve told me you already have in your own backups, so I’m leaving that up to you. The only remaining step is to upload insert those into your user account, which you are also able to do yourself. Unless you have any other needs I’m not taking any further action (and nor will my team).
