Recording response times accurately on Psychopy

Hello,

I am working on an experiment whereby I display an image/video, and then a small dot appears around the image/video. I’d like to record response times, but I’d like the response time to record when the dot appears, not when the image/video appears. How can I control for this?

I am working on builder as I’m not familiar with the coder view.

You’re controlling the appearance of the dot, so presumably you already know when it appears?

You can therefore set your keyboard component to share the same onset time.

I have set it to share the same onset time, does this mean I’ve already controlled the reaction time without realising? Sounds good!
