Problems with text display/wrap-up

Hi, I’m having a text-wrapping problem in PsychoPy Builder that I can’t figure out.

I have a CSV file with 10 columns named “window1” through “window10” . In my PsychoPy routine, I have a Text component called “window”. The text is selected from the CSV using:

$eval(“window” + str(wordLoop.thisRepN+1))

The problem is with how the text wraps on the screen.

For example, a short phrase such as “the cat” is displayed on two lines:

the
cat

even though the entire phrase clearly fits within the visible screen area.

Things I have tried:

  • Setting the Text component’s Wrap width to None
  • Changing the Wrap width to larger values
  • Changing the text size/height

None of these seem to do anything.

Try using a Textbox instead; they have an explicit width and height same as other visual Components
