Initialising experiment stuck

URL of experiment: https://run.pavlovia.org/LBDLab/emotional-dpt/html/
GitLab: https://gitlab.pavlovia.org/LBDLab/emotional-dpt

Description of the problem: My experiment runs off my desktop with no issues, however, it will not run on Pavlovia. It looks like others had this error due to javascript conversion issues but I am using the latest version of PsychoPy and use the Auto --> JS setting whenever using custom code.

I am wondering if it is related to the image file path? Right now I have excel spreadsheets with 2 variables (Pic1 and Pic2) that have the file path and image name. When I export to HTML is this file path no longer accurate? I can’t think of what else might be the issue since I am new to online experiments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @bkeenan, sorry to hear your study is not running as expected on Pavlovia. I have not been able to access the links you posted. Has the repository been taken private maybe or did you manage to get this sorted out? I would love to take a look if not. Thanks

Hi @sotiri I appreciate it!
One of my more recent (unsuccessful) troubleshooting attempts was to delete it off pavlovia and re-upload it. Here are new links

OK great, thanks for the links. On first inspection, this looks like a variable naming conflict. Would it be possible to change the name of your sound variable that is assigned one of two .wav file names depending on the outcome of PracResp1.corr to something different like my_sound?

As it happens sound is the name of our PsychoJS audio library component that is added to the global scope and so the browser gets confused as to which of the two sound variables is meant if that makes any sense? Please post back if that fails to solve the problem or if you come across any other hurdles getting this to work as intended.

Yes, that must’ve been it!! Thank you SO much. As you may be able to tell, I am very new to online experiments so I clearly don’t have the eye for details like that. I appreciate your help!

With pleasure, no problem :sun_with_face:
