Emotiv saving and hanging

OS (e.g. Win10): Win11
Standard Standalone Installation? y
Do you want it to also run online? n
What are you trying to achieve?: Record EEG from Emotiv with markers.

What did you try to make it work?:
I launch Emotiv Pro and connect the headset. I launch PsychoPy that includes Emotiv components and markers. I manually start recording in Emotiv Pro, then launch the PsychoPy task. Afterwards, I see there are two EDF Emotiv files generated. One appears to be from my manual save and does not contain markers from Psychopy, despite that I could see them being recorded. The other is generated after I close the PsychoPy task, and is typically longer and contains the markers. The task now frequently hangs deep into the trials, despite executing perfectly when not recording.

I am confused as to the intended behavior. I definitely want to see the headset connected and markers coming in, so I will always at least launch Emotiv Pro. However, I think I should not record from Emotiv, because PsychoPy is generating the files? Also, exactly when are those EDF files supposed to be generated? I suspect what is happening is I was recording two EEG files during the task creating heavy memory demands, crashing the PsychoPy task (eventually).
