Duration of blank routine depends on participants response in previous routine

OS: MacBook Air 14.2.1
PsychoPy version: 2023.2.3
Standard Standalone? (y/n) y

What are you trying to achieve?:
For my word-cue memory experiment a word will appear and the participant presses a key when they recall a memory, after they recall a memory they will answer a few questions about that memory. If after 15 seconds they do not recall a memory, these questions are skipped and the participant sees the next word. However, if participants recall a memory within 15 seconds I want them to see a blank screen for the duration of the 15 seconds before the memory questions appear.

For example:
0s = Word onset

<Word remains on screen until Spacebar pressed, then disappears and participants told to relax>

15s = If no space bar pressed, then gap of 1-2s saying “never mind, here is next trial…”

(or) If space bar pressed, then self-paced retrieval questions; then gap of 1-2s saying “ok, here is next trial”

I have added a blank screen routine after the word-cue routine however I am unsure of how to change the duration of this based on the onset of the previous routine and the time the participant presses the key.

I would appreciate any suggestions, thank you :grinning:
