OS (e.g. Win10): Mac Monterey PsychoPy version (e.g. 1.84.x): 1.3 Standard Standalone? (y/n) If not then what?: y What are you trying to achieve?:
Sorry, new to PsychoPy. In OpenSesame there’s a basic sound synthesizer where you can easily define a sound component consisting of a 1000 Hz beep lasting 250 ms. Is there an easy way to do this in PsychoPy as well? Seems like it would be quicker to generate than to load a sound file everytime, but maybe others have other suggestions?
As far as I know, you can simply enter a number in the sound field of your sound component (where you would also enter a filename), which will then be interpreted as Hz. The duration you can also set in the sound component.
One thing about this. I’ve noticed that variably the beeps will end with quite a strong audible click – both on macs and PCs and on headphones and speakers. I’ve tried decreasing the volume of the beeps and shortening their duration (thinking maybe it’s due to latency issues and them spreading across an extra frame now and then or something), but nothing seems to help. Any idea what this could be from?
