Blank page when running experiment online

URL of experiment: Fabian Gubser / Experiment1 · GitLab

Description of the problem: The experiment works perfectly fine offline. But If I start the experiment online, I only see a white page. Although reading the manual, I haven’t understood If I had to modify the experiment for running it online.
https://www.psychopy.org/online/fromBuilder.html

What did I do to solve it? I’ve deleted the “index.html” folder.

Unfortunately, I don’t see an error message when pressing F12.

Thank you a lot for helping me and excuse me if the answer is obvious.

I think your Gitlab repository is corrupt.

Try resyncing and if necessary delete the local .git files and recreate.

Hello

We do not have access to the project despite the link you provided or it is corrupt at @wakecarter suggested.

Does the experiment run locally in a browser?

Best wishes Jens

Hello

I just tried to access my own gitlab repository. I get the same error. So, it is probably a server related problem.

Thanks for checking. It’s the same for me so I’ve sent an alert to Alain about it.

I’ve double-checked that experiments are still running and data is still saving (and can be retrieved via the project page or by syncing from Builder). Alain says he will sort this out by tomorrow afternoon and that it is probably related to tweaks to the Gitlab security settings.

Thank you for your fast reponse!

I did resync many times and I also deleted twice the local .git files (there is usually one). I also restarted psychopy but it still doesn’t work.

Thank you very much! You are great.

I’ll try again tomorrow afternoon then.

Yes, it works locally (both locally or “on a local browser”). Thank you.

Dear all,

As per Wakefield’s earlier message, the issue had to do with security settings interfering with the GitLab’s GUI. As far as I can ascertain, experiments were not impacted in any way.
I sorted out the settings earlier today and I believe all is well.
With my apologies for the disturbance!

Alain

Now, there is no more error message on gitlab/pavovlia. Thank you @apitiot and @JensBoelte !

Unfortunately, I still see only a blank page when I start the experiment.
I’ve tried one more time to resync and to delet the git file but it doesn’t work.

Thanks for any help and your patience.

Hello

I forked your experiment and it ran without problems in my case. Perhaps clearing the browser cache will do the job?

Best wishes Jens

I wonder if the issue is with having a fore-slash in a folder name:

I’m getting the same error as you when I try to run your experiment in an incognito window.

Do you have 2023.2.3 installed or do you have a later version and 2023.2.3 selected in Experiment Settings?

Thanks. I did clear the browser cache but it didn’t work. @JensBoelte

Thanks @wakecarter .

I removed the folder with the slash (it was an empty folder in the folder “sounds”).
In the settings, instead of nothing, I’ve selected my version 2023.2.3.

Then there was this error message: “the configuration file could not be found”. At least there was some text in the browser window ;D As sugggested in other posts concering this error, I’ve deleted the “lib” folder, but it didn’t work. It was also recommended to create a now project, which I did (I copied the project AND its folder). It still doesn’t work.

I also tried firefox instead of chrome.

(There is still a blank page.)

@JensBoelte @apitiot

HEUREKA !
I just switched the project from “PILOT” to “RUN” and now it works! Thank you all for your help. You are great and I’m really relieved!
