403 Forbidden and 404 Unable Load Ressources

URL of experiment: https://run.pavlovia.org/NicolasGoulet/gabors_1

Description of the problem: Will not run and show 403 forbidden. When index.html is in the repo, it gives 404 unable to load ressources

I have checked and testes all solutions from other related such posts.

This is somewhat mind-blowing as I am simply splitting a previously working experiment into two different experiments.

I tried copy-pasting the original experiment and removing the second half, to get these results.

Then, I rebuilt the experiment from scratch and STILL had the same result.

When I run the ‘‘complete version’’ (online_version [PsychoPy]), there are no such issues.

Both the experiments have the same parameters. Both can run locally without issue.

It is only when I try to run the first half of the experiment from a new experiment that I get this error.

This has been driving everyone in the lab nuts for days!

We would be much obliged for any pointers.

Best,
Nicolas.

Why isn’t index.html in the repo by default?

This is the most likely explanation for the 404 error.

Hi!

Thank you for your reply.

I removed the index.html because when it is there, I have a blank screen when running the experiment online. The console command shows a 404 error.

I haven’t tried to manually modify the index.html file.

If I push withtout the index.html, I get the 403 Forbidden error.

EDIT : I just tried renaming the experiment and the experiment file (according to the blog post you shared).

I also made sure that the index.html was in the repo.

When I try to run, I still get a blank screen with the following error message in the console :

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()

I also checked the contents of index.html and it correctly states the new name of the experiment online_version_part_1.

I also want to add that this repo I am sharing is started from scratch (I did not use a copy-pasted .psyexp file)

First check you are running the latest version.

Then check developer tools for more information about the error.

Hi!

Thank you again for your reply.

I had already tried all these in previous attempts : making sure I am using the new version, using a private / incognito tab, clearing the cache, etc… Basically I read and tried all posts related to this issue.

I have tried again and still end up with a blank screen with the same error in the console log :

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()

This page failed to load a stylesheet from a URL.

There are no additional details aside from these three 404 Failed to load resource

When I look up this message (failing to load stylesheet from a URL), I end up on a new page where you propose to create a new experiment (but this attempt is already that new experiment created from scratch)

The error you’ve come across

suggests that the online libraries for version 2024.2.5 haven’t been created yet. I’m sorry about that. Hopefully they should be up within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, you could try setting use version to 2024.2.4 in Experiment Settings (or the latest version you can choose).

Thou art the blessed one amongst us vulgar users of your marvelous Psychopy!!!

Changed to 2024.2.3 (2024.2.4 was not available) and it is working online as intended!

We will keep to 2024.2.3 for all splits of the experiment as I do not think we need any of the new features from 2024.2.5

Thanks a bunch!!!

I am afraid it is indeed my mistake. 2024.2.5 is now fully accessible.
With my apologies.
