Text/Text box formatting

Windows
PsychoPy v2023.2.3

Hi there,

This should be a basic issue but I’m having no end of problems with the formatting when trying to display an information sheet. Grateful for thoughts as I’ve tried two approaches.

Text component - the result is that the text is clipped as it’s quite a large amount of text.

Text box - the scroll works but I cannot get the text positioned so that it isn’t clipped.

I think the Text box is likely the best way to go. In terms of settings for it I’ve got:

In the Layout tab:
size (1.5,0.9)
position (0,0)
spatial units - from exp settings
anchor - centre-left
orietnation - 0
Overflow - scroll

Formatting tab:
Alignment - top-left

Grateful for advice.

Personally I use embedded Pavlovia Surveys for scrolling text.

However, you could try adding dummy extra lines to the bottom of your text if it won’t scroll to the bottom.

Hello @Charlotte1

alt-print copies the currently active window to the clipboard, which you can paste here using Ctrl-V. This usually produces a screenshot that is easier to read than a photo taken with a mobile phone.

Best wishes Jens

Thanks both. The experiment is running locally in the lab rather than online so I don’t think I can use the Pavlovia Survey component in this instance. I’ll give the text at the bottom a go though!

I’m unfortunately working across two different machines so the screen grabbing is proving tricky at the moment but when I can i’ll use grabs
