Simple staircase not supported online despite PsychoPy tutorial saying otherwise

I have built an experiment with a simple interleaved staircase following this official PsychoPy tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfZzqHOjYoM).

However once I try to run this online I get an error saying simple staircases are not currently supported. The video title, description, and content say I can use this online.

I am wondering if I’m doing something wrong, or if the tutorial is in fact incorrect? There is conflicting information on the psychopy docs that say only QUEST can be used online [ Flow — PsychoPy v2025.2.1 ].

Psychopy Version: 2023.1.2

Hi @DrBob ,

I believe this issue is happening because you’re using PsychoPy v2023.1.2 and not v2025.1.0 or newer (this is the version used in the video). You can see the version in the video running online here.

Would you please be able to try again using the latest version?
