OS (e.g. Win11): PsychoPy version (e.g. 2003.2.3): Standard Standalone? (y) What are you trying to achieve?:
Run Psychopy after installing the PupilaLabs plugin
What did you try to make it work?:
downloaded this
and pasted into
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\psychopy3\packages\psychopy-eyetracker-pupil-labs
What specifically went wrong when you tried that?:
Without trying that solution, Psychopy crashes (does not load). I am unsure if this solution is a rpoper soution or there is a bug somewhere
Is there any update on when this might be fixed? Also, does this only relate to installation where the user is on a computer using roaming profiles? Just wondering as we have the same problem on our computers with PsychoPy 2023.2.3 which are enrolled on a Windows domain server.
For anyone wishing to recover from borking their psychopy installation by installing the Pupil-Labs plugin, you just need to
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
Windows key + R, copy and paste the above into that. Hit OK.
Open the psychopy3 folder and then double click on userPrefs, which should open in notepad - look for the line with “Pupil” in it - startUpPlugins = then remove the reference to pupil-labs-blah-blah… save the file
