PsychoPy Sync Error: Project Folder Inside Another Git Repository Preventing Synchronization with Pavlovia

Hi!
I am trying to sync my project to Pavlovia (I am using PsychoPy v.2024.2.4), but an error occurs during the process, preventing the operation. The error indicates that my project folder (/Users/owner/Documents/IAT1) is inside another folder managed by Git, which is not allowed. As a result, PsychoPy is unable to properly initialize the local repository or complete the synchronization with Pavlovia.

The error is as follows:

AttributeError: The requested local path for project
‘/Users/owner/Documents/IAT1’
sits inside another folder, which git will not permit. You might like to set the project local folder to be
‘/Users/owner’

To try to resolve the issue, I have renamed the folder, the experiment, and the project, as well as moved the folder to a new location, but the error persists.

You probably previously synced a project from your documents folder. You need to delete it’s .git folder and file.
