Psychopy does not open after uninstalling and installing 2024.2.4 version

OS (e.g. Win10): Windows 11
PsychoPy version: 2024.2.4, Python 3.13

So I installed the newest version of Psychopy on one of my study laptops but noticed it didn’t serve the promised enhancement and instead ran into some problems such as that the end of a movie component did not force the end of a routine and other components set to infinity therefore hindered from proceeding (which I fixed in the code, no problem). Because I did not want to be confronted with more problems in other paradigms that we’re running on these laptops, I decided to go back to the old version in which the paradimgs run without problems. However, now that I deinstalled and installed several versions of Psychopy and now am back to 2024.2.4, the software does not start anymore! The first window with the Psychopy banner pops up but afterwards no Psychopy or Python window opens and the Task Manager also tells me that no software is running.

I turned the laptop off and on again, deinstalled and installed the version again, version 2025.1.1 works and starts but 1. I cannot select 2024.2.4 as a version to run my experiments in (it just doesn’t exist in the list) and 2. running it in other versions always leads to an error.

Could someone help me please to fix this problem? I’m at my wit’s end and we are having experimental sessions next week.
