Hi there,
We were running a class on Psychopy and encountered a problem we had not seen before.
Every time an experiment runs and exits with an error, Psychopy crashes ungracefully. The PCs freeze for a while, and often we need to force-stop the process.
More importantly, once a new Psychopy session is run - even if it does not contain any issues, the experiments exit with a “port is already in use error”. Then, everything freezes and we are back again in a loop of Psychopy crashing every time it is used.
We found out that the issue is that after the first crash, there is always one or more Psychopy processes running in the background, though they are not related to the experiment at hand. It’s like Psychopy (or Windows, or an interaction between these two), is doing something unwanted in the background.
Has anyone encountered something like this?
