Hi there. Unsure if you remember this problem. But are you sure this is the solution? I’ve tried creating simple fresh projects with different versions of PsychoPy and only v2020.2.5 is ending up with downloaded resources. Projects created all the same way, and never selected any resources. I don’t know if your solution will work for the other projects but it seems strange that 2020.2.5 is working differently. Just curious if you’ve learned anything since your post. Also, losing my mind over this.
Have you looked at Resources in online studies — PsychoPy v2022.2.4 ?
I did see this yesterday. Was happy to see they are addressing it. I didn’t have time to test it since running into the problem and for now I’m sticking with 2020.2.5 because it’s working. I’m just happy to come across someone’s downloading comments because I hadn’t noticed the resources were not downloading as I never had that happen before. I changed so many things about someone’s project to figure out the problem only to discover the file wasn’t downloading. Good to know now.
But I hadn’t tried that solution you referenced with 2022.2.4 because I had the same issue with resources not downloading (before seeing that post) with that version and another, both while creating brand new projects containing a simple loop and a single resource file. I then tried 2020.2.5 and this version worked after building the same silly loop. I did notice that you had a post about differences in versions, I think around 2020.2.3 so I’m still trying to unpack it all.

Can I ask what you mean by “uploading resources through the prompt”?
I have the very same problem where I face the error regarding importing condition and getting the value of resources.
