Inconsistent experiment results available for download between participants

URL of experiment: https://run.pavlovia.org/dvchari/1-visual-stroop/html and Audiovisual_stroop [PsychoPy]

Description of the problem: Hi all, I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I’m new to using Pavlovia - I’m having an inconsistent issue with a series of experiments including the ones above where the results are not appearing after download for some participants. I have a series of 8 online experiments for which the participants are given links to each individually. I am able to download and see results consistently for #1 (the first link), but then inconsistently for #2 and a few others. I’ve reached out to participants who say they’ve completed the experiment fully, and yet their results aren’t available for download. This happens so inconsistently among different experiments between different participants that I can’t seem to find a pattern or a reason as to why it’s happening.

Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this?

Thank you!

My intuitive guess is that your experiment settings in Pavlovia are not set to save incomplete data, and the experiments are not finishing properly. But, this may be a long shot.

I maybe wrong about this, but from what I understand, data is only stored on Pavlovia if participants wait completely till the end of the experiment when the “press ok” box is presented, and subsequently click on this box. If they cancel out before this point, the data may not be saved if you have 'don’t save incomplete data" selected in your experiment settings.

This maybe incorrect, so anyone please correct me if I am wrong!

Hi Tim,

Thank you for your reply. I thought it might that as well, but all of my experiments are set to save incomplete data. I’ve been more careful about instructing participants to wait until the end of the experiment when the browser completely indicates they are finished, but I’ve also trialed it myself and closed the browser prematurely and that data was saved…it’s very confusing!
