I downloaded the lastest PsychoPy Studio (2026.2.1) directly from GitHub. I can’t seem to copy or paste anything when using the Builder (text, code, etc.). I’m on MacOS. Is anyone else having this issue?
I have exactly the same issue; running Tahoe 26.5.2 on an Apple M1 Pro. I have given Psychopy Studio the required permissions but I am still unable to copy and paste anything into Builder. I can copy and paste out of Builder onto another app (e.g., TextEdit) though
this is also happening to me. i’m also having the issue of cmd+c to copy text within a code component of the builder not actually working and instead needing to use right click->copy. macos sequoia 15.7.7. psychopy studio 2026.2.1 downloaded from github.
I now know why this is happening… On Mac OS, there are no “global” shortcuts in the way there are on Windows and (most distros of) Linux. CMD+C and CMD+V are treated as shortcuts to specific items in the app menu, so if the app menu doesn’t have buttons for Copy and Paste (as is the case for Studio 2026.2), then Mac OS assumes you don’t want shortcuts either. There’s also other shortcuts, e.g. CMD + = for zooming in, which don’t work for the same reason.
I’ll add in all the necessary menu items for 2027.1.0. For the time being, you can revert to 2026.1.3 which doesn’t set an app menu (it has a hamburger in the top left of the ribbon and leaves the default options for the app menu on Mac), so doesn’t have this problem. Sorry for missing this, I didn’t know this about Mac OS and didn’t notice the lack of shortcuts when testing on our office Mac!
