Audio recordings distorted

OS (e.g. Win10): macOS Big Sur Version 11.6
PsychoPy version (e.g. 1.84.x): 2021.2.3

What are you trying to achieve?: I have two routines in builder that play .wav audio files. The first routine simply plays a single calibration tone for all participants before the experiment starts. This calibration tone plays properly with no issues. However, the next routine pulls audio files randomly from an .xlsx list. These audio files play normally on my computer, but when I run my experiment they are distorted and sound like they are in slow-motion.

What did you try to make it work?: I made sure that all .wav files have a sample rate of 44.1 kHz but they are still distorted. I am not getting any error messages, it just doesn’t sound like the original audio. Any tips?
