My Self Paced Reading Builder looks for $Questions in question_text and $corrAns goes in key_resp (Data tab). Change it to allowed keys ‘a’, ‘b’ and remove textbox and textbox_code
Hi again, this is the final sheet with 4 columns. I tried to run it via PsychoPy but I want each question to follow each sentence and it doesn’t seem to be working that way.
I run it and it showed the items from top to bottom in a row whereas I need it to be 'a context + a sentence (words appearing one-by-one here, not as a whole) + a question. How can I make it this way? Thanks

What does your psyexp file look like?
contextssentencesquestions.psyexp (48.9 KB)
contextssentences1_lastrun.py (21.3 KB)
SPR Yasemin.xlsx (8.5 KB)
Morning, I guess I should do it like this because sentences are shown as a whole not in a one-by-one manner when I put all of the variables in one sheet, however, words of the sentences MUST be presented one-by-one.
In this case, do I need to have 4 different sheets (1-contexts, 2-sentences, 3-comprehension questions, 4-corrAns)?
Maybe, in FLOW, for the order: ’ a context + a sentence (words appearing one-by-one here, not as a whole) + a question , I need to add contexts sheet first, and then sentences sheet, and then questions sheet in a row. What do you think? Because, the other option we tried yesterday (all the items in one sheet, 4 different columns) didn’t work out the way I had hoped.
And unfortunately I’m not good at understanding codes, so, is there any way doing this is Excel only, in the manner I’ve just explained?
You could have each sentence as a separate spreadsheet with one row for each version of the sentence (i.e. with each added word) and then loop through it sequentially.
The big issue with the psyexp file you uploaded was that it had three separate loops. Did you mean to present all of the contexts before the sentences and all of the sentences before the questions?
Yes, that was what I meant.
In that case three spreadsheets would be easiest.
One for the contexts
One for all of the sentences (assuming that you don’t want them randomised)

An apple a day

Then a third spreadsheet with the questions and a column for corrAns for the keyboard response.
Thank you so much I will prepare these three separate Excel spreadsheets. I got it
But as I’ve mentioned before, there are some sentences that do not have a context, you’ve told me to put a dot in the these rows, is this still OK? Because I think I will do it that way.
I guess the hardest part for me is figuring out how to run all of these data on PsychoPy with Loop and Routine settings.
You’ve mentioned earlier:
What’s the right way to do it with this Insert Loop and Insert Routine buttons? Definitely, I’m doing something incorrectly there, but I’m not sure where exactly.
Hi, I’ve been trying to run this experiment for several hours now and it just doesn’t open. Do you know what is the problem?
I even added the code you gave earlier in another topic, but it didn’t help. Can you edit it and show me in this psy.exp file please? Thank you thank you thank you

I added this code.
I’m sorry but I’m currently working on two consultancy projects which I need to prioritise. I do try to help where I can on the forum but I also have a full time job at Oxford Brookes University and will be taking some time off over the Easter weekend…
Of course, no worries. Thanks again
