What are you trying to achieve?:
I have an experiment that replicates the posner spatial cuing task. The cue is a video of either an animated, 3D pennant flag billowing or the same 3D pennant, but not billowing (basically a video of a still image).
The study starts with an instructions page followed by a fixation cross (shape stim) and then the videos. The issue I have seems to impact all parts of the study. The size of the text and my other components/stimuli is way too large. They are all set in degree units.
The most odd part of this is that I had this experiment running about a month ago and it was fine. I didn’t change any of the stimuli sizes or the units, but today I went to the run the study and everything was too large. I have an exact copy of the study running on a different computer (computer 2) with the same specs and it is fine. I tried copying the working study file from computer 2 to put it on computer 1 and the same issue occurred. I have completely different psychopy experiment files on computer 1 that are working just fine and use the same units and values.
The only changes I can think of that occurred between then and now are that I moved the computer/monitor to a different room and at some point added the Psychopy for eye tracking package or toolbox.
The monitor center settings did not change when I moved rooms.
What did you try to make it work?: I have tried restarting the computer, changing units to pix and adjusting the values to ones I know work, I’ve tried changing the overall preferences to deg, I’ve checked that the settings for the monitor center within psychopy and the monitor resolution between computers/files are the same.
What specifically went wrong when you tried that?: When using deg as the units, everything is much larger than it should be, and when I use pix, everything is much smaller than it should be. I say this because I use the same value whenever I use deg or pix across experiments, so I know what size the units should be for text or small images.
Here is the file that works on computer 2 but not on computer 1:
