Slider formatting broken in v2024.2.4

Description of the problem: Having recently updated PsychoPy to v2024.2.4, I am experiencing exactly the same issue as this post from 2020: Unexpected Slider behavior in 2020.2.4 JS (marker takes up whole scale, end labels are in center)

The resolution appears to be a bug fix, but I tried the suggestion of changing the granularity on my sliders to 1 nonetheless, which hasn’t affected the issue.

My experiment doesn’t have any code components. This is happening when I run Pilot mode and Running mode in Pavlovia. The slider works fine when running offline directly from PsychoPy builder. I updated my version from 2023 when I realised I couldn’t pilot; the slider worked in Running mode here, before I updated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @aimeewestb,

Could I ask which style you’re using for the slider? Or if you could possibly share your PsychoPy file or a minimal demo version of it?

I’ve just tried to replicate the issue by building this demo in v2024.2.4, but I see the marker appearing as normal.

Thanks so much,

Kim

Hi Kim

I was using the slider style, but have tested in rating and scrollbar as well, both which had the same issue.
I have now installed v2024.1.5, where the rating style now works on Pavlovia, but the slider style has the same problem as before. Happy to go ahead with this solution.
Thank you,
Aimee

Hi @aimeewestb,

I’m pleased that you’ve found a workaround, I’ll report the ongoing issue with the slider style as a bug!

Thanks so much,

Kim
