Psychopy won’t run any experiments. As soon as I put in participant name, it goes full screen gray, then crashes. I have a newer MacBook Pro with M1 chip. Please help!!

Security and privacy ( in mac settings not psychopy) > privacy tab > allow psychopy accessibility and input monitoring
then restart psychopy and try again.
I believe this is a bug in version 2022.1.1 where sometimes error messages do not show (and restarting the program fixes it) but on mac if you are using psychopy the first time you need to enable keyboard access for the application in your mac settings.
Hello! Thanks so much for this! I was using the absolute newest version, 2022. But it now works for 2021.1.3, which I just downloaded. Although it says that the experiment was built in an updated version and it recommends changing some experiment setting. I’ll continue to build in this version, until newer version smoothed out. Good to know that that people are working on this. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for this, Becca! I had the input setting, but not the accessibility. I think this helped it get running in the 2021.1.3 version at least. I greatly appreciate your help.
Hi, I just downloaded PsychoPy, but it won’t open at all. I don’t even see the participant dialog box appear. Any help would be appreciated! I tried both 3.10 and 3.8 version; and I have a Mac with Intel processer, running on Sonoma 14.6.1. Thank you.
