Parallel Port TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable

Hi Everyone!
I am new here and not too expert with PsychoPy. I would appreciate a very straight forward answer to be applied to BUILDER only (I don’t know coding).

I have an experiment protocol for multimodal EEG/fNIRS with triggers to be sent through a parallel port (LPT1) with a splitter cable to both machines. Interestingly, working together with paradigm in the other software (NIRStim) triggers are sent properly.

The paradigm in PsychoPy started to crash after inserting a parallel port component, which I set up like that:

Then I receive a error message as follows:

Copy-pasted error:
trigger = parallel.ParallelPort(address=‘0x0378’)
TypeError: ‘NoneType’ object is not callable

I would really appreciate if someone could help me with that. Cheers !!

OS (e.g. Win7 Enterprise):
**PsychoPy 3
** Standalone

Hi,did you resolve this problem?

I’m having this exact problem. Anyone have a fix or an explanation of it?

When this NoneType error has come up in the past, it’s been related to the parallel port drivers. Perhaps try following the solution in this post and make sure that your standalone installation of PsychoPy has all relevant/compatible versions (x64 or x86).
