I’m so sorry you lost your work.
First, check your project’s history on Pavlovia for a previously saved version. You should also try opening it in a different browser or on another device, as it might just be a loading error.
To prevent this from happening again, save and commit your work often, use a single browser tab, and avoid long editing sessions. For extra security, regularly export your survey as a JSON file to create a local backup.

I’m wondering if is possible to work with commits when running an experiment in pavlovia. I have tried to use git from command line however I’m not sure that I can push a local revert online without compromising the experiment.
There are some suggested ways to revert an experiment to a previous version?
Just in case anyone has this problem too:
the bug went away after a few days (a little over a week), now the save function works perfectly again
meanwhile or if this persists, an alternative option I used as a workaround is to create your survey in the designer and save the JSON file of the survey (download button on the top right when you are on your survey page). I’m guiding another cohort of around 100 3rd year students through using Pavlovia Survey for their final year project. I’d two workshops this morning the first of 35, second of 34.
In both some students (about 20%) encountered an issue that suggested their survey was not being saved to the server, it would appear fine in Design and Preview but then when they tried to run it they got an error screen saying ‘This survey does not contain any visible elements’. (see screenshot)
