Linux vs windows

Dear all,

We are building an eeg room, and need to decide whether the stimulus computer that will run psychopy will be based on Windows or Linux.

  1. I understood windows might be blocking the parallel port (used to send triggers). Is that true? Is this a good reason to go with Linux?

  2. If we go with Linux, some of the students will be developing the experiment on their own laptop using windows, then they will need to run it on the Linux computer. Is this a problem?

  3. Any other reasons to go with either Linux or Windows when the computer’s main purpose is running psychopy?

Thank you for helping out!
