How to migrate an old PsychoPy experiment (2023) to PsychoPy 2025.1.1?

Hi everyone — I’m currently using PsychoPy 2025.1.1. I have an older experiment that was created in a 2023 version of PsychoPy, but I don’t remember exactly which version I used (edit: I think it was on 2023.2.3 version; thats because I have it on my Windows Laptop, nonetheless when I open this 2023.2.3 PscyhoPy .exe idk exactly why open 2025.1.1 Psychopy .exe)

However, when I try to open it in PsychoPy 2025.1.1, I get an error. Is there an easy way to migrate this experiment so it runs correctly in the newer version?

Thanks in advance,
M.

Hello @MarcelloSilvestre

Can you load this version without errors?

PsychoPy complained about an unkown parameter that I deleted.

The error message gives you a potential solution. Read it carefully.

Best wishes Jens

The error seems to come from ioHub, so if you’re not using eyetracking you could set the “Keyboard backend” parameter to “psychtoolbox” in Experiment Settings to get around it.

Hey @JensBoelte , Thanks a lot!
@TParsons solution has worked :slight_smile:
