Getting studies running again on Pavlovia

I created a new project and unable to pilot it. I am stuck at initializing the experiment screen. However, old experiments are working. Is it something to do with the current situation? Should I wait till next week?

Thank you.

Waiting until next week is generally a good idea, since we’ll have everything back in order then. Still I’d like to provide a pointer about your issue. It’s likely a syntax error. See this tutorial: Thomas Pronk / tutorial_js_syntax_error Ā· GitLab

Hi Thomas,

I’m setting up a language experiment which records speech. I also added a ā€œplaybackā€ function, to check the microphone status of the user.

I want to test my experiment now. I didn’t buy any credits yet.

My questions:
At the moment is everything covered by a free license, right?
So, when I’m putting it on ā€œrunā€ data should be recorded on the temporary servers?

Because at the moment it does’nt record any speech data when I’m running it myself.

Thank you!

Hello! Should we still be expecting to be back to pre-fire Pavlovia by tomorrow? If not our lab needs to get in contact with our participants. Thanks!

Hi there, so it’s Friday the 19th, and my missing branches are still missing from the git project :((( does this mean they’re lost forever?

Hey again.

Thanks for the update, Thomas. We have numerous participants scheduled for Monday, and I was hoping to use this weekend for testing to make sure everything was working properly before our Monday appointments. Are we feeling quite sure that everything will work on Monday without additional troubleshooting?

No, I’m not sure about that; once the servers are ready, we’ll need to migrate everything. Should go swell, but if you’ve got time-critical appointments based on that, I’d recommend to take counter-measures.

Thanks for your answer.

But the online-version of my experiment still records no speech.
When I’m running it on my computer, there is no problem.

I use the microphone-component to gain my responds in the main part.
For the intro I additionally use a code-component to produce a playback of the recorded speech. Later on there is no playback.

But the online version doesn’t creat any WAV-files.

Aha! I thought you built your own implementation of speech recording. In which case I would have connected you to some of our developers :). Speech recording isn’t yet supported in PsychoJS. We happen to be working on that though, but it could take a while before we release it. I’d happily discuss this further, but could we do so in a different thread?

Thanks! What we have now attempted is to sync a version of the experiment with a new copy of the root folder to my collaborator’s new account. It appears to be working and maybe that will mitigate potential merge issues later (crosses fingers)??? (this might reflect my complete naivete about gitlab and maybe doesn’t actually help at all, haha)

LOL :). That’s actually an excellent approach with regard to the merging; the project under the account of your collaborator will be considered as completely separate from yours, so they can just live side by side

Hi, I was wondering if this error that occurred at the end of my experiment that a subject was running could be due to the fire issue:

No, that’s unrelated. I’ll close this thread now for further comments

For those needing urgent access to their pre-fire data we do now have access to that and we’ve made it available at https://tmplovia.org

We’re now working to merge the pre/post-fire data

You can still run your studies at pavlovia.org in the meantime

Thanks for the Pavlovia team for all the fantastic work!!!
However, @jon, @thomas_pronk, I read through the threads and found no information about experiments uploaded after 4th Jan. Now we only find them on tmplovia.org, but they can’t be run (of course). Can you give any info about the availability of newer-than-4th-Jan experiments on pavlovia.org? (Maybe I missed some info, if so, sorry for that!)
Thank you!

As you say, those are currently available to view, but not run, on tmplovia. We’re currenlty merging the two sites together and hope we’ll have the final merged data ready tomorrow for you (we’ll need to turn everything off to do the very final merge/switch/test). In the meantime you can push your experiment back up to pavlovia and run there if you need.

Hello

We had plans to launch a study, that obviously were delayed due to the fire.
We did not yet purchase any credits, but were going to do so now.
As far as I can tell, the option to purchase new credit is no longer available in the store. Do you have an idea about when it will be possible?
