Counterbalance online

I am using mory scarter for counterbalancing my 4 groups in the experiment.
I’m running my experiment in Prolific.

Description of the problem: Every time someone enters the link the participant count goes up by 1 (as it should) but it happens also when the participant doesn’t complete the study.
Then the counterbalancing becomes a problem (if i need the same number of participants for each of the 4 groups).
Am I missing something?
