Component precedence on screen

Hi everybody!

I’m using PsychoPy 1.84.2. on a Win 10 machine.

As I understand it, the order of the components in the builder defines the order of appearance on the screen so that the topmost component in the builder is displayed first and then the subsequent components in the given order, so that the last component should be on top of the other ones on the screen.

In my experiment I have an image and a rating scale below it. Because of the size of the image, some parts of the scale are not shown. In the builder, the image component is above the rating scale component but. The scale is still partially covered by the image. I don’t understand why. Any ideas?

Btw: For my purposes it would not matter at all that the image is partially covered by the scale even though this would be unusual in most experimental situations.

If this template helps then use it. If not then just delete and start from scratch.

The rating scale should indeed be drawn on top (and is when I test it).

  • Could you give us a screenshot?
  • What happens if you reverse the order of the components? (i.e. right-click to move them up/down.)
