Completely Wrong Refresh Rate on Ubuntu

I’m currently on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and somehow my refresh rate is way off (close to 1000Hz). This directly results in not being able to run any frame-based experiments (each frame will just go super fast). My psychopy is 2022.1.1 I believe. My screen manager xrandr shows that my frame rate is 60 Hz. I have also tried to adjust waitBlanking to False. It changes my numbers, but they are still close to 1000Hz. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Would really appreciate it if there’s any insight!!

Here is my nvidia-smi

Hi @jennyqsun

Have you tried turning off “Sync to VBlank” in your NVIDIA settings app?
Take a look at this thread.
