Hallo,
is it possible to change the color of the splash screnn (or omit its appearance altogehter) that is shown when starting an offline experiment created with psychopy?
I’m not able to find any information related to this in the forum or on the internet.
Thanks for your information and help in advance,
The splash screen is shown when starting the app, it generally shouldn’t be shown when starting an experiment.
The only time I can think it would appear when starting an experiment is if you were running psychopy/app/psychopyApp.py via command line with the --direct argument (as this starts the app silently and immediately compiles & runs a given psyexp). If that’s what you’re doing, then you can add --no-splash to hide the splash screen.
Hallo,
thank you for your fast response.
Perhaps, I should clarify. Considering your answer, “splash screen” might not be the right term for what I mean.
I created an experiment with psychopy builder on a Win 10 desktop computer. It is a very basic experiment, showing some images in random order and collecting some answers via radio buttons. The experiment is running offline in fullscreen mode with a black backround.
When I start the experiment first a dialog appears to enter the subject code. After that the traget monitor goes into fullscreen mode, showing first a white screen for 3 to 4 seconds. After that the instruction screen for the experiment appears with black background.
What I want is to get rid of the white screen before, if that is possible at all. The planned study is to be run under very low light (mesopic) condition, so I try to avoid any bright visual stimulation during the light/brightness adaptation process.
Thanks again for your support.
Best regards, Sven
Do you still get the white screen in windowed mode or is it just when fullscreen? And do you see the “Measuring frame rate…” screen in addition to the white screen?
Found the fix. It was an error on my side. I did not work in true fullsceen mode, but rather set the display resolution to full monitor resolution, which made me think, I was oerating in full screen mode. After setting the tick to full screen mode in the settings panel, the white screen is gone.
Thank you very much for your help.
