Cedrus component

OS: Win11
PsychoPy version: 2023.2.3

I will use Cedrus response box and for that I am trying to add the Cedrus Response Box component to the psychopy. I installed it from “get more” part of the software but it does not shown under the responses (or any other component area). I also did some updates from pip terminal but it still not shown. Same steps worked on different computers but not on this one. How can I make it work?

Hello from Cedrus. Please send us an email. Though we cannot help with coding, we’d be happy to help in getting you up and running.

I think you want to use newer PsychoPy versions (2024.2.0+), as a bunch of BFs were made around entry-points. However, it’s worth noting that the latest version of psychopy-cedrus release on PyPI was in May, so maybe the PsychoPy team just needs to push a new version that is using entry points correctly for the Cedrus Response Box component to show up in the Builder component panel.

I’ve just pushed the latest changes out as a release on psychopy-cedrus, so if it still doesn’t show up try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin to get the latest version

Hi,

Unfortunately I cannot update the version of the PsychoPy. It is a lab computer and there are experiment ongoing with its current version. So, changing the version is not possible :frowning:

However, I have the one of the latest versions (2024.1.4) on my Linux computer. I can see the component, but it cannot find the Cedrus device this time (DEPRECATION could not find a Cedrus device.). Since they (Cedrus people) cannot give any support to Linux, do you have any suggestions on how I can work with it in Linux?
