Biopac MP36 and only python

Can biopac MP36 be completely run (data acquisition, transfer, control) using only python & psychopy, (no proprietary drivers, dlls, etc?) but assuming appropriate plugs and cables?

I know for sure that some PsychoPy users are sucessfully sending event markers (marking stimulus onset etc.) with BIOPAC devices but usually whilst acquiring the physiological data via BIOPAC’s AcqKnowledge software rather than from within PsychoPy itself.

Unless someone within the community responds here with their experience doing this, I would recommend asking BIOPAC directly, as we’ve not got any BIOPAC devices to test out ourselves within the Open Science Tools team I’m afraid.

Thanks. I have asked the biopac rep. If I get the time, maybe I can use parts of bioread 2025.5.2, MPyDev, and BioSPPy to figure out comms and data structures.
