Unchecking “Is trials” for loops did not stop data being collected for them

Windows 10
Psychopy version V2020.2.10

I am trying to cleanup my data file to remove entries I do not need.
If I uncheck “save onset/offset times” in the data tab of properties for images and text that works great. They are no longer captured in the data file.
However when I uncheck “Is Trials” for loop properties data is still in the data file. I assume this shouldn’t happen.

I have 19 loops in my experiment and all of them when I execute that branch of the experiment showed up in the data file when run locally on my computer.
Interestingly only 3 of them were in the data file when I did exactly the same thing online.

Is this a bug or I am doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can provide a copy of my experiment if required.

Thanks Phil

Hi @philBartlett, many thanks for creating a separate thread, would it be possible to post a sample .psyexp as well please? Cheers, s.

I found that if you uncheck “Is Trials” any data exported to the data file only happens once instead of per iteration of the loop. I do not know if that is intended behavior.
