Unable to stop saving legacy files even when versions are the same

Hello i have a psyexp file that is currently on version 2024.2.4 of psychopy, the standalone i downloaded is 2024.2.4 and the version i am using in the settings is 2024.2.4. When i finish an experiment or end it with the esc key a legacy psyexp file pops up in my folder which is strange because i knew those referred to other psychopy versions. Why does this happen everytime and how i can fix this issue? it’s really annoying deleting everytime the legacy file

Please could you confirm that Experiment settings / Use PsychoPy version is blank?

No its actually on 2024.2.4, is that why it keeps saving the legacy file?

Possibly. That field should be blank in most cases.

I changed it and now it seems fine, thank you very much. I feel kind of dumb now because i could just experiment a little bit more to find the solution ahah

Don’t worry about it. The Use PsychoPy version should only create a legacy psyexp file if you select a pre 2023 version (IIRC), but perhaps got confused because you were selecting your current version.
